I love to-do lists just as much as I love apps. So even though I’ve been a dedicated Astrid users, I always like to play with other to-do list apps just to check them out. That my friends is what you would call an addict. Addicted to new apps and to-do lists – guilty.
I have an iPad. I also have a 6-year old daughter. Which really means my 6-year old daughter has an iPad. Sure I monitor how much time she spends on it. But if you were to look at my iPad’s you will see that I have about 2 pages of apps. She has 6.
When I download an app for her, I can do my research and know it’s safe. But what happens when she searches the web? Remember McGruff the crime dog from the 80′s? Well apparently he’s still around and he’s keeping our kids safe when they’re on an iPad. Read more
Someone once told me that running a home is like running a small business. Although it is a bit harder to fire your “employees” – I’m talking about you 5-year old who sucks at cooking and laundry. And just like any business, I am always looking for ways to run my home better.
While I love my smart phone, laptop and iPad, I hate when I forget to charge one. There is nothing worse than when you wake up to check the latest news – or your Words With Friends game – and your device is dead.
So far my solution has been to have a charger everywhere. One by my bed, in the car, in my office and in the kitchen. But different gadgets use different chargers. Have no fear, Innergie’s Magic Cable Trio is here. Read more
For many of us the holidays mean traveling to see friends and family. Or if you’re really lucky, it means someone gifts you a trip to the Caribbean. Either way, it means you have to pack.
As organized as I am, I still do not have a foolproof packing system. And whenever I have to pack for a trip with my husband and daughter, I’m usually completely stressed out and threatening to never go away again. Why? Because I don’t have a packing app…until now. Read more
Today I am over at GigaMarks (formerly FiveFreeApps) talking about iRule:
Universal remote controls have become increasingly popular. Sure they take a bit of time to setup and learn to use, but not having 17 remotes on your coffee table makes it worth it. And in keeping with the tradition of combining gadgets, now you can use your smartphone or tablet to control your entertainment system.
Yesterday we discussed how to nicely ask for gifts. Today it’s all about the giving. Whether you have a large family or small – and whether or not you actually like them – odds are you have a few people to buy holiday gifts for.
The thought of losing your phone is enough to bring tears to your eyes. And if you’ve splurged and bought yourself a tablet, you probably don’t want to think of what will happen if that is misplaced.
Ladies, our plates are full. We have jobs, families, homes and laundry. Not to mention dinners to cook, shopping to do and appointments to make. And every year when we make that super fun trip to the lady doctor, they ask if we’re performing our monthly self-exams. Um, well um, when I um remember.
Now there’s an app that will not only entertain you with hunky guys, but it will also remind you of your self-exams and answer all of your breast cancer questions. Read more
Everyone seems to have different styles when it comes to a task lists and getting things done. I use Astrid Tasks and while I don’t love it, it’s the best I have found for my Android so far.
AE’G-wiz is an app developer that has created another to-do list and says that if you’ve found one you like, then you don’t need to bother with their 2do BY day app for iPhone. But if you haven’t, this one may be for you. Read more
Against my better judgement, we have added a new dog to our home. And I’ll be the first to admit that only after a week and a half, I am attached and he’s my little schmuppy puppy!
But with pet ownership comes big responsibility. Just like you keep your health records and those of your children, you should also do so for your pets. My Dog is an app that makes this easy.
Whether you’re a college student heading back to the dorms, or a graduate student working your way to a higher degree or you’re a mom, there is a good chance that you are struggling to keep all your – or your kid’s – homework, assignments and exams organized.
If only there were a program for your Mac and your iPhone… Read more
Long gone are the days when you had to be tied to a desk to get anything done. We work in bed, at Starbucks, on the couch, heck even in the bathroom. My favorite place is my husband’s big comfy leather chair.
So with comfort covered, we still have a problem – power. And while a 3-foot power cord is fine for some, others need a little more. Like 9-feet. Oh, that sounds nice.
