With children younger and younger using the internet for entertainment purposes, it’s becoming more and more necessary for parents to monitor their usage.
AVG Technologies – the great people who have given you the antivirus and anti-malaware software – have created a solution for parents. AVG Family Safety gives your child the freedom to roam the web, but also keeps you informed of what they’re doing.
Family Safety works with your web browser – Internet Explorer, Chrome or Firefox – and has the ability to block inappropriate content and inform parents of what their children are looking for on search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing.
Parents will also receive instant alerts if their child has contact with an online predator. They’re also able to customize the software to monitor over 80 social networking sites – including Facebook and My Space – and will also be able to see if their child is involved in cyber bullying.
Have more than one child? You’ll be able to set up different profiles for each child with different filter options based on their age and maturity. Another great feature for parents is the ability to schedule how much time a child has access to the internet.
There is also a AVG Family Safety iPhone app to keep your kids safe even on an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. The app is free and available for download at the iTunes app store.
AVG Family Safety is currently for PC’s only and for $19.99 it will cover up to three computers. Subscriptions are available for up to 10 computers.
