By now I am sure you’ve heard that Verizon has followed in AT&T’s footsteps and will no longer be offering unlimited data plans. I know, it sucks.
But if you happen to own an iPhone, there’s an app that can help monitor your data usage so you don’t go over your plan.
Data Usage will separately monitor your cellular and WiFi usage. How does it know your limit and billing cycle? Well, it allows you to program in your bill period and the amount of usage your plan allows. Once you approach your limit, it will notify you. You can also check your progress by viewing the progress bar, which will give you a percentage and also change colors alerting you to predicted overage. And once your billing cycle ends, it will reset itself.
Other cool features include the ability to check applications that eat up a lot of your data, real-time customizable alerts, and it analyzes your previous usage to predict future use.
To prevent you from getting stuck at the end month with no data left – well, you can do whatever you want, but you’ll pay – the app projects your use and will turn your progress bar yellow to ensure you evenly distribute your use.
The app will run in the background, not disturbing your Angry Birds game, and will cost you $0.99.
