You may love gift cards. You may hate them. Regardless, I’m sure you received at least one this past holiday season.
And even the biggest gift card lover hates to carry them all around. Because it happens – just when you need that gift card, you can’t seem to find it.
Long gone are the days of registering your gift card on a company site or even making a photo copy of the back. Now you can log in your gift card information into your phone and hand your phone over to the cashier (or waiter), and go on your merry way.
For you iPhone users – on AT&T or, in a few weeks, on Verizon – and Android users, there is Swagg. It’s cool, it’s hip and it will store all of your gift card information and more. Swagg also allows you to buy, send or swap Swagg gifts, which you can choose or Swagg can choose for you based on other stuff you love. The ‘Send a Swagg gift’ feature is cool and there are currently over 3,000 retailers to choose from.
One other cool thing – If you download the app and register before December 31, 2011, Swagg will donate $1 to Stand up To Cancer.
JunoWallet is also available for the iPhone and Droid phones. JunoWallet will keep track of all of those gift cards and even offer you promotional gift cards and certificates. You can even share those promotions via Facebook and Twitter and earn JunoPoints for checking into places on Foursquare. JunoWallet also allows you to create a 4-digit PIN to protect the information on your phone.
Both apps are free from the iTunes App Store or the Android Market and both will track gift card balances in real time.
Just a tip – keep the plastic version of your gift card at home, just in case.
